Hello Chaps.
For a while I've been considering getting something different to potter with. I had many ideas from an Austin 7 to my old friend a rear engined Skoda. I even pot in a few £20 shots on Retroshite to no avail.
Our friend Bob Howe though told me of a Lomax 224 on Ebay, it was sitting at £1609 when I looked I bidded late and won it for £1659.
The car was in Wigan and had been in a dry garage for 5 years.
The seller had fitted new plugs recently, changed the oil and filter, fitted a new petrol tank and fuel lines.
The problem was getting it here with shiply looking for over £1000. A stroke for luck came about that the seller could get it on a return tractor shipment to Annan which is 88 miles to me.
I Collected the car on Saturday, no breakdowns but performance was way down. New points, valve clearances now adjusted and exhaust leaks sorted have cured the low power.
A lot of wiring to redo but its brilliant fun. Has the Visa 652cc engine and a 5 speed box from the GSA rather the 602cc and four speeds..
