I wonder how well the signal was received?
There may have been a lot of aircraft flutter

It could have been a flying spot scanner instead of a TV.

The receiver has the look of an HMV 900 about it, but that would have been a common technology at the time. I'm sure pictures were received, but quality is another matter. We don't know.
PS: If you do weaving in an aircraft, will the loom use a flying shuttle?

If it was as heavy as a 702 that plane did well to get off the ground!
Any info about the receiving aerial? Steve

A 702 or 900 may be a heavy brute, but no worse than a couple of passengers.

I can assure you that RCA didn't use an HMV900 or any other EMI set. It was a TRK12 and weighed 198lb. http://www.myvintagetv.com/Apple%20PDF%2...Manual.pdf

I'm sure RCA used their own set, but it has the look of an EMI mirror lid. Nicely lethal 7.5kV mains EHT
![]() I was being generous with the weight. There are plenty of people (not you or me) who weigh more than 198lb. Just over 14 stone.
