Most reliable TV?

Mam had a Sony 18 inches colour TV & it never conked out in the 20 odd years she had it, it was still working perfect when my sister had it when Mam passed away in 1994. So I'd guess that that Sony TV's would be one of the most reliable..

And yet there was an early to mid 1970s 18" Sony which gave us a lot of trouble because of those unique to Sony Gate Controlled Switch semiconductors (GCS).
However, I do still have a 13" Sony Trinitron TV which must be forty years old, it's one of those compact sets that was offered in different coloured cabinets. Mine is in a sober looking grey finish.  Must try it out sometime.

It's not quite a TV but I have a 9" Ikegami (ITC) monitor above my bench that must have been made in the mid to late 1960s. It has run for countless hours both with me and previous owners. I've looked after it since 1972. The only failure in that time was the insulation around the LOPT breaking down slightly. Readily fixed with some polythene sheet or suchlike back in the 1980s I think.

Mediocre picture quality but it serves a useful purpose.

Can't recall when the Sony KV1340 was last used, it's most likely the owner gave up on set in mid 1990s.  There's a label on the back informing us that a repair was carried out in 1994.  Faulty tuner.
This evening I awoke the set from it's long slumber.  CRT is a bit low but the picture is still watchable.

The little 9-90 seems to power up reliably with long unused gaps.
The 1340 is a nice little set and gave a very good picture but I seem to remember it had a slightly bluey green cast regardless of how you tweaked it. Nice vivid reds.
