This huge U-link was part of the system for connecting high power transmitters to aerials at Crystal Palace before digital switchover. It will be going to the Broadcast Engineering Museum www.becg.tv

That's serious coax. Apparently waveguides have been used at UHF. About the size of ventilation ducts!

The "plumbing" at CP is impressive. Both the old analogue and the new digital. All co-axial AFAIK, no waveguides.
