Hi Bob,
The IF stages are sort of shared with VHF so first port of call would be to check that local oscillator (EH81 triode) is actually oscillating. If you have a scope it is easy to probe pin 8 on V2. If not then check the cathode volts on pin 3. It's quoted as 1.7 volts. They don't actually tell us what the anode voltage should look like but perhaps 150 volts??? If it isn't fairly big then check for dirty switch contacts on the FM and MW switch wafers.
