If you don't want to get straight into cap changing then with the set sitting so that you can see the chassis under side then switch on and carefully look for the source of the smoke. Once you've found it then look at the schematic and try to work out which capacitor has been causing excessive current to pass through the over heated component.
If you have difficulty spotting the overheated component then disconnect the supply and feel around for hot things. (Usually resistors but could be transformers)
