That's certainly the same number type. The Q prefix makes me think of "quality" and possibly an inspector's mark but that's pure supposition. Geordie's MP prefix reminded me of references we used in HP where lab prototypes and manufacturing prototypes were numbered but we never shipped any prototypes except for early evaluation.
