BVWS online auction

The BVWS are holding an online auction starting on the 22nd January.

This is being organised by the BVWS's auction agent Mike Barker in an attempt to clear some room in the storage unit, and to give members access to some new bits to enjoy and play with.

There will be lots of goodies and bargains!

Only BVWS members who are up to date with their membership will be able to participate.

Membership subscriptions to be in by Tuesday morning 19th January to enable Dave Church, the membership secretary, to get the main database up to date, as a link and password to the auction will be sent out by email on Wednesday evening.

If your membership is not current, you will not get an invitation to participate. Remember you can pay online via the BVWS website: https://www.bvws.org.uk/info/subs.php There is no extra charge for paying online.

I got an email about the auction which should be going to all members for whom the BVWS has an email address. AFAIK it's going to be online, more like ebay than a live auction. Starts 22nd Jan I think, no idea about catalogue/collection/delivery yet. As Stockden says, I think it will all be covered in a subsequent email.

BVWS members should now have received a further email with details about how to join the auction.

One question, now answered, is how kit is to be collected. Various committee members will act as distribution points. In Scotland, Wales, Rugby, Romford and Devizes. Members are also free to make their own courier arrangements. There's no pack/ship service. International arrangements not yet finalised.

Mike Barker and his team (presumably just Jim, in this time of lockdown) have obviously put in a great deal of hard work to get the catalogue and photographs together. Congratulations to all involved; let's hope it all goes really well.
