...to prove it I rigged one original stereo speaker on one channel & a 44 on the other.

To my surprise it sounded just as good as the two 44's did...

Aargh! But then again, all good loudspeakers should sound the same, shouldn't they?

Most impressive - fingers like two plates of sausages, but such precision with the plectrum!

My favourite instrument - whenever we can my wife and I go to concerts of the foremost UK mandolin player - Simon Mayor - a self-taught Yorkshire lad who grew up in the roughest area of Sheffield. Not a child prodigy - no encouragement from parents - didn't play a note till he bought a second-hand guitar, aged 15. A wonderful fiddle player too (the Mandolin and violin are tuned the same). He plays all sorts of music from Classical to Blue Grass. Try this for size. Way off topic I know, but what the heck - worth an outing. Sounds great, even on my PC speakers!

What a pleasure to listen to. Of course, to me, all good musicians are impressive. I muck around on the pipe organ or parlor reed organ but not when anyone else is listening.

Love these twangy tunes. SWMBO is a line dance instructor & has been teaching me to LD since she started her own class in June 2013. A lot of line dancing is done to Bluegrass, Country & Southern US music & I'm really getting into it just lately. One of my favs is 'Highway 40 blues' by Ricky Skaggs. I got praised the other night for doing the correct steps to it & keeping up with everyone.

Update on my odd speakesr situation: I've still got the odd speakers set up but I've lost the remote to the panasonic stereo. I've had another pananasonic stereo given to me with a bi-amp speaker system, I'm presuming I can't use my Celstion 44 with it., (The pana's in the spare bedroom that's being used as a dump room at the moment) SWMBO has bought me a pair of Seneiser HD 205 headphones so I can listen to things while she watchers her load of old tosh soap, & they sound great..

you probably could use your 44's, you'd just have to get inside and disconnect the drivers from the Xover. Mark will know more.
