Sanyo "OTTO" DC-434E

I've just been given this Sanyo music centre which might be right for the planned 1970s living room at the Broadcast Engineering Museum. It looks in decent condition though the guy who gave it to me said it wasn't working.

Apparently OTTO stands for "orthophonic transistorised technical operation"

Does anyone know anything about this unit?

Make sure it's set to 220-240V?

Probably better than any "music centre" easily bought new today.

Some of those connections look strange; are those 3 pin speaker sockets? I do have a 230V Rotel with USA power sockets (with direct to local mains on them).

RM has K version, though what may be speaker connections look different? No schematic, but I can't imagine you needing one for this.

K might be UK
E might be mainland Europe.

EDIT: I see the RM K version lacks the red dots on rear. Buttons?

Over-current cut-outs.

The red "dots" look like resets for overload cutouts. The speaker connectors are indeed odd. There are 4 pins per connector, but only cores in the flex.

I'm sure that the rest of the kit will handsomely outperform the speakers. But that's not the point if it's going in a room setting. We may want to use it from time to time but we don't much care about the sound quality.
