David was a devoted and painstaking collector and restorer from Norwich: I don't think he was a member here, but he was active at the UKVRRR forum as Radio_Dave, often posting accounts of his finds and restorations. He died in October last year after a short illness, and his collection is being cleared through an internet auction house, James & Sons, here in my little market town: two sales have already featured David's items, but the largest offering will be auctioned on January 15th.

There's something for almost everyone in the first 120 lots: valve and transistor radios, some carefully restored and others apparently as-found, record players, a few TVs mostly portable, test equipment, valves and other components, a couple of Nixie tube clocks, etc..- but all to be collected from Fakenham. The saleroom is about 200 yards from my front door, so I've given them a little help by way of sorting the items into viable lots as well as with some of the descriptions and estimates. They'll happily send out a paper catalogue to anybody who wants one, and items can be viewed by appointment or - some of them at least - immediately before the start of the sale.
