Some notes from the executors about this auction.

Just a note to announce the first auction of items from Lucien Nunes Vaz’ extensive collection.  The purpose of the auction is threefold (in order of importance):
 

1. To give as many friends, relatives and interested collectors as possible access to the collection.
   
2. To raise funds to pay the continuing costs of storage etc
   
3. To get a third party involved so that the work of disposing of the bulk of the collection doesn’t fall to the Executor alone.
   

 
Items where Lucien gave specific instructions, of historic interest, and/or low commercial value have already been given to specialist collectors, and this will continue to be the case.  The guiding principle is and always has been ‘what would Lucien have wanted’, so where his wishes were known or can reliably be presumed, items will go to places where they will be used, seen, and understood. 

I was actually at one of Lucien's stores when the Ramco guys were selecting items for this auction. If this sale goes well there should be a larger auction later this year.
