Good evening
I was ohms testing the mains TX of a poorly Quad II amplifier recently and the meter readings, combined with the look of the bitumen and faint smell of burning suggested a partial short. The HT windings are the problem and the LT ones read fine.
I have had good experience of dealing with Majestic in the past and have received quotes for a drop in replacement or a bare transformer for re-potting into the original can. Before I take the plunge with them has anyone had a Quad mains transformer rewound before or have any recommendations as to a firm that I could approach for a quote please?
Many thanks
Adam
