Vidicon CCTV camera

I picked  up two of these at a sale today, they look anonymous with no makers name or anything I can see on them to identify what they are. Nicely made though with folding down panels to aid servicing etc.  It all started yesterday when I aw one a bit like it in the computer museum, today I saw a tube for sale and I bought it just as a display piece, then the seller said there were some camera too. I'm a sucker for old junk, I like to think I'm rescuing it... David

It looks like a one inch tube 1970s build.
Brand.... Prowest may be.
There may be a name on the boards.

Looks a bit better than an average CCTV camera. Standard 1" vidicon tube.

Hi Could that be based on the Mullard app note from the 70's. The PCB's look familiar.

I rather think it is made in the UK by GEC

The nice rack & pinion focus drive to the tube gives it away as a quality product.

Hi Brian,
Yes one of my units look identical except for the style of focus knob to the one in your photo, the other is very similar but has some extra screws in the lid - I think it is a bit newer.

I had an idea it looked as if it could be a reference design. I'll check some component dates in the coming days.
