Who was JRD?.
Until 1956 when Dick and Smithy first appeared, the In Your Workshop articles were presented by JRD. Who was JRD?.
J R Davies was the name and he died on 7th February 1981 aged 57.Prior to working for Data Publications he was engineer in charge of television and sub-assembly at the Ferguson Radio Corporation Ltd Enfield Middlesex. His obituary appears in Radio Constructor April 1981 and he was cremated at Taunton Devon on 11 February, the only family present at the funeral seems to have been a daughter.
The article I found this from suggests that JRD wrote Dick and Smithy who I have enjoyed reading, I cannot verify that though. Some are available online as pdf files.
