rare circular fluorescent bulb

Please can anyone identify the type number of this circular fluorescent tube.
I have been searching the internet for a few days, but the trouble is the type number has rubbed off the old tube.
   
Or even better recommend someone who can supply one.

It is from my bench magnifying lamp, larger than the average with a 180mm glass lens.
The tube has 4 pins on the OUTER edge and is 220mm across and the tube is 16mm.

I had a similar problem. I fitted a ring of LEDs. if I was doing it again I'd probably use commonplace LED tape rather than the set of 10 small 12V LED bulbs that I fitted back then.

Photo of LED lamps in my bench magnifier. If I was doing it again then LED tape would be cheaper and easier.

I used a 12V wall wart from the junk box to power my modified bench lamp. It would have been possible but more work to fit a 12V PSU in palce of the old magnetic cotnrol gear for the fluorescent.

Beware of tubes that are specified for electronic control gear only if your bench lamp has a conventional choke. I don't know what the problems would be if you used the wrong tube.

I have been to my local TLC branch, they have similar but wrong diameter tube and smaller circle, pins wrong also they were on the inside. To go into a magnifying lamp they need to be on the outside of the ring, so they dont interfere with the lens.

A white LED xmas light string wound round and round in the fitting could be a cheap, simple and seasonal replacement.

The 22W one is 210mm in diameter - close enough if the clips in Mikes lamp are adjustable slightly, but it looks a bit 'fat'. That Type Number doesn't exist on Crompton's website, implying that these are NOS, but the two current 210mm tubes they do have a tube diameter of 29mm!

Looking for these circular tubes is a bit of a minefield, in my experience. I wanted one for an Aldiddle up-lighter about 5 or 6 years ago and, although I ploughed through lots of listings, every time I found one with correct diameter and tube size, they always had the connector on the outside, like Mike's, whereas I needed one with the connector on the inside.

As the other half of the connector was part of the sprung centre arm that both connected the tube and also supported it, there was no way I could move it to the outside!

The strange thing was that I could find the type of tube I wanted in any other size with the correct connector but not the one I wanted! I gave up in the end.

It has to fit into a moulded recess, so it has to be within a couple of mm of my dimensions..

Since it uses LEDs then spare bulbs should be more or less irrelevant. Many LED light fittings are not designed to have replaceable bulbs though this doesn't prevent premature mortatlity which then writes off the whole fitting unless you can get into it and replace the faulty part. This is more likely to be in the driver than the LEDs themselves.
