Seems I've gotten myself into a fine mess again.
Accepted this B&O 9300 for repair. The local B&O shop directed the owner to me because evidently it's company policy not accept equipment for repair that's over a certain age.
So yesterday I set about in earnest to examine the unit. Should be a simple matter to repair it, remembered a topic on the UKVRRR about this model and the forum member had found some SMD elcos that had gone low capacity.
Disaster! upon inverting the unit one of the glass panel popped out and broke into two, seems the adhesive had failed. The offending panel is fitted into a plastic cradle and that part is in a bad way, falling to bits, as is the other one.
Easy enough to glue the plastic cradles together but now I find they have shrunk, the glass panels won't fit so now shims will to be inserted in order the glass panels will fit. Or is it possible a twenty year glass plate could have expanded 1mm or so? More likely the plastic panels have shrunk.
