Video RF output?

Here in the UK video's used to have the RF output (usually) on channel 36 adjustable a few ch's up & down in case of clashing. In USA (Canada, Mexico?) the video channel was switchable between ch's 3 & 4. What did other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, China, India etc do?

Australia, and other countries where primary services were transmitted on VHF used modulators on band 1 (usually switchable as in US) - only later when demands on spectrum necessitated it did modulators on UHF frequencies become common
