Only slightly "off topic"

My "new" guitar is a Gretsch 1992 6118, its the no 1 prototype just before they restarted full scale manufacturing in 1993 in Japan.
I'm lucky in that I have some docs with the guitar including a handwritten note signed by Fred Gretsch that amongs't other things allows good provenance as they say on the "tele"

I stripped it down today to check specifically the pots etc.... for date codes etc....

I have found that they are "standard" 1" rotary carbon trackers with a date code of march 1992 nothing unusual there of course.

I remember Noble capacitors from the past ( I think) & was sure they were made in England but here they are in a guitar made in Japan (Terada factory)

A theory passed to me is that the body/paint/ etc.... were made in Japan & hardware parts fitted in the USA in what is left of the Gretsch factory.

My question is..........................where are these pots made ?

There seems to be a current supplier/ manufacturer in Japan, same operation ?

They do work very well helped by the heavy chrome on brass knobs that give a good smooth "weighty" action so don't see any need to change anything

Any ideas/help/thoughts will be appreciated
