You are right David that the combo toolbox could be a horse for a course. Say you were a flat dweller and did some DIY it might be just the what you need.

A agree, a spare battery is a necessity for that sort of tool. If you're working at home, you can do something else while it's recharging, but at a remote job site (presumably why you would want an ultra-portable system like this) you're out of luck.
With two batteries you could also have two tools ready to use. Another battery instead of the light, would be my choice.

Here in the UK you can get a cordless hammer drill for £20 from Aldi and if you want another battery you just chuck another complete tool into the basket like I did. Extra batteries can cost more than the tool itself when they on special offer over here.
