BSR C129 problems

I'm having problems setting the idler wheel height after reassembling the cam gear to the speed ajustment slide. The motormounting bushes are OK but, however I adjust the set screw the jockey pulley is too low down, so that, e.g., when the speed selector is a 33, the t/t runs at 45 rpm because of this. As far as I can see the cam and toothed slider are in the correct relationship to each other, and the idler wheel(jockey pulley) is correctly mounted. I've secured the spring loaded spindle to the deck plate with a conventional circlip because the one that BSR used is missing and I don't have any like it. Would this cause the problem or does anyone have any ideas as to what might? Another problem is that the pivot pin which secures the arm to it's rest appears to be damaged, with the result that the arm 'flops' around it's inner pivot point. Maybe I should scrap the thing!!!

The motor mounts often sag and cause the problem you have when they are on the way out.,
Can you lift the motor so that the jockey wheel lines up with the motor spindle?

Alan, the Stereo is in my workshop elsewhere, but I'll take some photos next time I'm there. So far as I can see, refugee, the motor mounts aren't sagging, but I will certainly check that, although, unless I can obtain a replacement PU Arm pivot spindle & fixing screw (see my post in 'parts wanted') the deck is scrap any way!
