Just a bit of trivia, but I didn’t realise the extent you have to go to if you want 'pure sound' emanating from your speakers – obviously I’m just not up to speed:

Those fuses are not as expensive as the gold plated ones I have seen in another thread.
As far as there mains leads will go is to the socket but there will be no contact when it gets there
       

Then for soak testing and electron training there is the electron purging resistor having 5 corners that the electrons have to go round and this weeds out all the badly behaved ones leaving only those that that do not taint the sound.

Audiophools: amongst all the rest of the brouhaha, there's one thing I don't understand. After a small fortune has been spent trying to obtain the purest sound possible, do these people then spend a huge fortune on having a specially acoustic chamber built for them to sit in and listen to their music? If not - and an 'ordinary' room is used (albeit it with soft furnishings, carpets, curtains, etc.) - then spending that 'small fortune' seems pointless - even if they can't hear / feel / sense 'the difference' anyway.
Or is it all a simple matter of one up-man-ship and sheer misguided snobbery?

A wooden soldering station is a must for soldering them in as a plastic soldering station might taint the soldered joints and the sound signal passing through them.
It was really built many years ago when I acquired a broken iron and fixed it with bits of another broken iron and when I tried to get the station the price was a little steep for what was in it. I made a wooden one and over 20 years later it is still in use.

Anything that approaches audiophool standard would be totally wasted on me as I am tone deaf and slowly going deaf. Do they make audiophool hearing aids?

Seriously though, I appreciate good music, but reproduction of such for me just needs to be "OK". I have wasted the time of serious audio system salesmen when looking for something to do when SWMBO does the grocery or clothing shopping. I let them go through their spiel and ask a few questions, rounded off with "do they do a hearing aid loop system so that I can also listen?"
