Mono. TVs in use in the U.K.

If you have a B. & W. T.V. and are recording television programmes, you must have a colour T.V. licence. This is because the equipment you use to make such recordings will record those programmes in colour - even though upon replay, they are presented to you in B. & W.

That sounds right Al, also from what I can find out it's the operating of the equipment to receive live broadcasts not just the mere possesion of such.
