Two colleagues arrived with this brute at my hall door; I'm still in shock.

It appears to have an American plug on it, 2pin, it seems to be wired to a 110v system, the fuse is blown, there's also provision for changing to 220v, I'm hoping someone didn't try to fire it up on 220v as there could be big damage done, hopefully the fuse might have saved it.

I've not had time to examine it closely.

Wish I had friends like that!!

It all depends on the speed that the fuse went. Usually the fuse, if it's of the correct rating, will protect the unit from serious injury.

A nice piece of kit Maitiu, I have a Blaupunkt Arkensas 59 which I repaired over a year ago,
I would not part with it for love nor money, it is stereo on gram, and also a proper GB import with the correct mains Transformer.

They are a cracking performer when sorted, you will not be disappointed with it.

thanks chaps, the gram seems to have been changed , its a uk 'precision crafted' is it rca?some of the cream fittings are still extant , from the original turntable, i was dissapointed when i managed to get the drinks cabinet opened all the whiskey was gone, [jameson]. although im thinking it arrived here from an auction room in the uk, called herman and wilkinson.according to a sticker on the top of cabinet, ill let you know more when i get time to look properly at it, im unable to move it as it is on delicate legs and damned heavy, regards mait.

Hi Maitiu, the record deck in mine is a Garrard rc121 MKII, but they fitted a wide range of record decks to these big beasts.

If you let me know the model no of your radiogram, I will try to find out what decks were fitted to them, I thinks yours is a later model than mine.

It is possible it would have been fitted with a Garrard AT6 Autochanger

type43954. valencia delux. multiplex stereo. deck bsr.
