This is a VCR with the same deck as the VT-11, apart from the fact that it's a front loader. When I opened it up, the belts had turned to goo the way that Philips ones do. So, off with the belts, on with the rubber gloves and all the muck out of the way.
So then I ordered a belt kit and the reel idler from Donberg. Fitted the belts and stuff and fired up, awaiting a lovely functioning deck the way I usually do.
It won't accept a tape, the motor with the big belt that goes across the bottom of the deck and it's parts turn once a few minutes after switch on and then it turns off. Switch on again and it does the same, as if it is trying to get into the 'Stop' position.
All the sensors are OK. Should the cassette lamp be lit on these or is it infra red?
