I'd be very interested to see the process of restoring your CR.100. I was looking at getting one recently but it was a too far away from me to be practical.
Having watched the guys work on AR88s at the Cottered workshops, acquiring a valved communications receiver is something I've been pondering over for a while. I was thinking about an AR88 but considerations of the space needed to put it is a major factor for me. They are not something you could sneak in under your jacket or surreptitiously mingle amongst the rest of the collection "That?! No it's always been there dear". Still, though it looks a little smaller than the AR88, I imagine the CR.100 is no lightweight either.
That wire from Phil is very good, I got some at the last Harpenden meet.
