I thought i would put a bit of German Quality radio on the Forum. And yes Alan it is a push and pull job. This Stereo radio sound is outstanding it will run on 110 / 125 / 220
/ 240 volts.
The Valve line up is ECC 85
ECH 81
EF 89
EBF89
EF 80
ECC 808
ECC 82
ELL 80
ELL 80
EMM 803
ECC81
It has LW / MW / SW / FM. Up to 106 on FM.

Good set, but some of those valves are expensive. So make sure all the caps on the Audio stages are OK.

Yes it has a Stereo Decoder with a ECC81 in it.

just been reading about ell80 circuits (phase splitter and push pull amp in one valve) but this is the first time that i have found something that uses them

As I remember ELL80 was just a double Pentode.
ECLL800 was the one with a triode (phase splitter) built in.
They seem to be still available.

Hi All,
I can see what Steve means about some of these valves such as the ELL80, ECC808 and EMM803 - these don't appear to be the cheapest valves to replace.
Is it correct to assume that these are towards the last generation of valves before transistors started to appear in particular the ELL80 and EMM803?

What a fantastic looking radio: and I'd bet that it sounds good as well. My Wife has taught the piano for many years: would she be qualified to use it!!?
