It might be worth posting a query on the American Antique Radio Forum. The forum is of course primarily about American radios, test gear and electronics, so for these sorts of queries, it’s very useful. You’ll find the forum at this link:

There’s a gallery of American radios which you can search, and I’ve just had a squint at it. The nearest I could find, which isn’t identical but looks very similar –similar covering and dial etc, is a 1940 ‘Automatic’ P-72. You’ll find it at this link:

Though the forum is moderated, it’s done with a light touch just as ours is, and I know that several UK enthusiasts have joined prior to Golborne coming on stream. However, you don’t have to join to read posts – only if you wish to post there yourself. As an aside, a nice touch is the ‘Clubhouse’ where forum members can discuss unrelated topics. We usually find a slot for anything we wish to discuss on our forum, (other hobbies, cars etc) and no-one gets uppity about threads drifting a bit, but a ‘Clubhouse’ section might be worth a thought now that our forum is on a very firm footing and going from strength to strength. Just a thought.

Hi Mark, I have a Freed Eiseman set here. Dates from around 1946. It has similar speaker cloth. I have had a quick Google most Freed Eiseman sets are 1920s.
