Nice little bits of kit. Used to have an Amplion battery eliminator but gave it away as I didn't like the thought of using an unregulated supply on battery valves.
Reminds me I must build another eliminator at some point, my current homebrew one works but is too big to sit comfortably inside a radio
I have to say Rob that it looks a bit crude.
I don't think I'd get it near any of my battery sets without a couple of diodes across the Heater supply.

it is crude but then again they were used for years with no problems.but 2 diodes is a good idea as some battery valves are getting hard to find(expensive)

Simple but nice as regards to having an eliminator of the correct period.
Would show you mine but would probably cause a laughter epedemic.
Built mine from bits all obtained from a car boot, the HT is derived from two back to back transformers salvaged from wallwart chargers. The whole project, including metal case from a 240-110v transformer and an LM317 for LT cost about 4 pounds.

ok just fitted a new earthed mains lead .powered up with variac uping input over 30 mins to give caps a chance to reform .
on mains input ,ht output reads 140 volts Lt reads 4 volts readings taken off load useing avo 8.
connected to vidor lady margerate
ht is now 87 volts
Lt is now 1.5 volts
no sign of hum or other nasties. just need to tidy up
