Maybe a film camera for Gaumont News in the Cinema or such?

The USA had TV still operational during the war and so had Germany till the TX sites all bombed. But only film recording then.

Our guide said that some well known entertainers, including George Formby, had played in the tube shelters.

Of course, we kids entertained ourselves running
down the platform of the Wood Lane trains and back up the Liverpool St platform.

Our guide also told us about the sanitary arrangements. Initially they were just buckets which had to be carried up the stairs and emptied heaven know where. The Thames was pretty close...

Later they fitted a compressed air sewage ejector. Apparent you had to carefully open and close the right valves at the right times

Neither did we! No wifi or mobile base station down there even now. Unlike many stations on the Tube.
