Tracy, it's even better than that. Much of the rest of the former RAF Hemswell is now the biggest antiques centre in Europe. Almost next door is the RAF Ingham Heritage Centre: https://www.rafingham.co.uk/

Scampton has a heritage centre though you need to book well in advance due to security on a working RAF station.

East Kirkby is further away: https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/

Even youngsters in Hemswell Cliff (the village that was former RAF Hemswell) seem to be aware of their heritage. For example that quite a lot of the Dambusters was filmed there. In theory it should have been done at Scampton but Hemswell looked similar and was much less busy with genuine RAF duties.

We're making a big effort to get the lobby and ante room looking presentable. We want to get some kind of camera exhibit up and running ASAP. This will also help when approaching organisations that give grants.

In the next couple of days this will fully patched up and with fresh paint. The ante room now has decent lighting and we'll be getting some better lighting for the lobby very soon.

We really need some proper CAD drawings of the building. This is a simply annotated version of a rather rough plan that was part of a decade old planning permission application.
