FRG7 mod

A TV repair shop without a signal genny!!!! That sounds like a load of cobblers....... not TV engineers. I'd be checking the quality of the rest of the work.

The alignment procedure for the FRG7 calls for a sweep generator and scope workable to 60MHz. This is needed to align the 55MHz passband circuit and the 52.5MHz selective filter. I suppose it's possible that this is the bit they weren't able to do.

Terry thumbs up to that . I was not told that he had no test gear in his shop untill the day i went to pick it up after re cap .  Said he had moved all his test gear due to him moving his shop . And said that there was no aerial for him to try it out . His main cash came from tv repairs now,  and would line it up later in the year .Dont think that will come off somehow.  . And above all that he was very pushed for time .This guy was the only one in my area to take it on .

As i have two Trio 9R 59D receivers ,And may be another soon . I think i will put the FROG7 up for sale on the forum .It was the first comunication receiver i had from a good friend who had it from new .It was sitting around in his study . No one as worked on it other than the tv guy to fit all new caps . It needs a good long wire for receive , i have no room for this .The Trio works the world on one 10 foot piece of wire . And ideal for my location ,and space. The fault is poor on lsb and it sounds like a transistor on that freq ,and is not intelligible.
