Useful cheap small tester...

[Radio Fixer]

Is this the same thing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-latest-M328-version-of-the-software-more-functions-Chip-Atmega328-128-64/121331235673?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D777000%26algo%3DABA.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D27538%26meid%3D9e2219b9db5c43949a305d301611ba2b%26pid%3D100009%26prg%3D11353%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26

All boxed up in a neat package.

Looks like it.
Why are they so keen in the ZIF Socket?
I'll put three proper Terminals on I think.

Is the second one a later version. Hard to work out the numbering as the first doesn't say much. At least the cased one gives:

2014 latest M328 version of the software ,more functions. Chip: Atmega328 128*64

the first says: LCR-T3

So no relation. Perhaps Nick knows. I did browse the translated article but it didn't help hugely .... maybe more time is needed and I'm really busy fighting the restoration of a radio as usual !!

Do you intend to get out your tiny iron and start changing and adding parts?

It seems to be basically the same hardware as the original Chinese/Taiwanese clones, but with some flashier s/w to do component graphics as a USP - the underlying firmware is slightly behind the official release which I believe is now 2.10 as opposed to 2.07 in the clones.

As a consequence, I suspect that the hardware mods I mentioned above which are needed to improve accuracy and stability probably still stand - I say "probably" as I've not had a chance to inspect this new variant - naturally, I could always be completely and utterly wrong on this...

FWIW, there is an LCR-T4 out there too, which seems identical in every way to the -T3. I suspect that too is just an attempt to say "Buy Me!" rather than buying one of the other 100 vendors offering much the same product

My LCR-T3 has arrived - just missed Christmas.
It is indeed much more swish than the one I can't find.
It's got a nice big Switch but I'm not too keen on the ZIF Socket. Also, I wish it didn't shut down quite so enthusiastically.
Still, onward and upward.

[Refugee]

Is that the bare board version of the one in message 81?

[AlanBeckett]

I believe so.
It's this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121309248191?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The Switch is different and there are no Components fitted to the alternative Connection Pads.

[Refugee]

I await your review.
There is a possibility I shall be buying one soon.

[AlanBeckett]

I ordered it on the 20th November and it arrived today. No doubt the Christmas Post slowed it down a bit.

Interesting - could yu have a look and see if this indeed a derivative of the original design and if the upgrades mention in post #71 have indeed been done?

Thanks
