The thing which always amuses me is the AI generated commentaries on some Youtube stuff. Some of the mis-pronunciation is ridiculous!

I'm now finding frequent word substitutions to what I actually enter. Meaning I have to be careful. Just now doesn't was substituted for does.
Earlier today, frequently substituted frequency. Unfortunately some posts cannot be edited. I then repost, giving the correction. So unhelpful and difficult to stop happening. Then, when a typo like a z added instead of the upshift bar I intended using. It gives unintelligible suggestions that take time to rectify if not spotted straight away. I wish I could train AI to my likely big finger errors! Another classic AI help on Facebook. Someone put "Sorry, but this Is an ask" on a local Facebook for sale group. AI swiftly suggested this: The post says "Spalding free to a good home!" which likely means the wheels are free to someone who can collect them, rather than the person wanting to buy wheels similar to supermarket shopping trolley wheels. So, the wheels themselves are being given away for free, not that the person is looking to buy or acquire similar wheels for free. The mind biggles. THAT should confuse AI into suggesting a flying brain!

I appreciate auto-complete when using my phone as it saves a fair bit of slow typing. Still has to be watched carefully. On my PCs I'll run spell check when I want to. If an email gets sent with errors then they are all my own.

Can't find auto correct to switch off, seems it's a function on gboard, which is greyed out in my settings.
On WhatsApp I just tried sending "Thanks for checking it". Ended up as thanks for Christmas. It seems only recently these problems started. Android phone, 18 months old with latest updates done automatically. Rob |
