'60s Ding---Dong

Friedland door chimes, the type with the long gold dangly tubes. Cream  Metal  case, not the later plastic one.

Collect from Middlewich or I could post at cost.

I'll give it to the end of the month then it goes into the scrap skip.

I have an idea that the solenoid switching between 'ding' and 'dong' is done my a mercury tilt switch - definitely don't skip it anyone without saving the switch!

I have not seen a mercury switch in it, there is a solenoid, ding on power, dong on off.

I've only seen spring loaded solenoids in any of the old chimes, inc that style. Usually a plastic or rubber tip at both ends of metal core. What would a mercury tilt switch do? Maybe cut power when tube is hit so solenoid oscillates when push-button held on?

Wandering off-topic, I've seen air operated switches, presumably for use in wet or hazardous areas.
