I have cuckoo clock which I bought in Austria on ebay a few years ago. It works fine but It's missing the antlers of the deer and I can't stop the chiming except by removing the weight which then puts it all out of sync. I thought it was possible to
stop the chimes/Cuckoo, in a bungalow at night it seems really loud. Been a few months now without a TWEET !!
Cheers

This is mine supposed to be around 1920 !!, I put the chime weight on for show. the weights are marked as 85
and weigh 880 grs.
Anyone know where I can find antlers? also how to stop the cuckoo without removing the weight?
Mike
Why on earth you want to STOP it cuckooing beats me but each to their own. What you could try is putting a bit of wire or a match-stick through the chain of the weight so it can't fall.
As for antlers, there are horological suppliers who sell such things - Meadows and Passmore and, Cousins spring to mind but I don't know if the ship overseas. Such things can also be found, new, on e-Bay.
Thanks Joe,
Never thought I'd find them but doing a search brought them up from Meadows and Passmore, there's a choice of 75, 90 and 110mm. As for the cuckoo sounds, the clock is right outside our bedroom and "Her Indoors" isn't partial to cuckoos at night. I'll have to see where it's possible to stop only the action!!
Thanks
Mike
