I rescued this old digital thermometer at the local radio rally today, it didnt work very well when I first tried it. since then Ive opened it up and found it has rechargeable batteries too. They are a bit fury but appear to be taking a charge and will be ok until I source some replacements. Now its been on for a while the temperature reading is looking more realistic and is matching to within a couple of degrees to another digital thermometer next to it - either could be off I suppose. I'll try it on my soldering iron - I certainly don't trust its temperature reading.
SInce its branded AVO I had thought it would be easy to find some data on it. Id like to have a go at checking and calibrating it. There are several pre-set pots inside. Nothing about it has turned up with my internet searching however. Next I'll see the the Intersil chip data is available - I-CL7107CPL. I found the data sheet, It appears to be a 3 1/2 digit ADC with 7-seg led driver
Other goodies include a Thurlby 32 channel logic analyser with 6502 and 6522 inside. Some transformers and switches etc.
David.
