A few years ago, I carried out a mod to an amplifier (Make & Model escape me now) which involved re-routing some wiring, and, IIRC, fitting a thermal trip on the heatsink, partly on advice of a member of this forum, but I can't find the thread(s)relating to it, I thought it was to Cambridge A500, but seemingly not. Long shot I know, but can anyone locate the thread(s) concerned? I'm sure it was on here, not UKVRRR or diyaudio.com!
