Hi.
Hopefully this is the correct section.
I recently wrote about Skywave Linux, I had used the previous version which I found rather awkward, the desktop and the laptop for some reason wouldn't allow me into the programs and it was controlled by pressing two or three keys at one time, it was just so user unfriendly.
I then stumbled on the latest version 3.1.1 and downloaded it to a live USB stick. It runs well, the programs are just what I want and it runs very nicely on my RTL dongle (albeit with the limitations of the stick). I have now copied the live disc to a hard drive with persistence so i can do saves etc. This woks well and is ultra fast.
So as I was really pleased with the RTL stick on Skywave I have decided to buy an Sdrplay RSP1A, this is the one at just under £100 and it gets good reports, no problems with images etc as it has bandpass filtering etc.
The RTL can be coaxed to run on low frequencies by changing the the sampling but it is far from good, The SdrPlay though will be first class.
It comes today and I'll report back once I've had a play (pardon the pun).
Hopefully this is the correct section.
