A handy Matching Unit.
This was made from an old tape recorder PSU obtained from a car boot sale for 50p. I removed the mains pins and rectifier circuit. The original DC output leads were disconnected, and re-connected to the original mains input winding of the transformer, and a standard 1/4 inch jack plug put on the end. The old 6 Volt winding was connected to the 3.5mm jack socket placed in the casing. This is a very handy unit for use with standard low impedance headphones for use in valve circuits.
