Back in the early noughties I acquired a Marconi Mastergram model 703 TV and radiogram combination. That set had been equipped with an add-on Band 3 converter, the type that converts the ITV signals down to the frequency of the BBC channel. In 2007 I sold the set to another collector who not long after buying the set sadly passed away.
Meanwhile, the HMV 902 is proving to be a reliable receiver. After the usual ten minutes after switching on to allow everything to settle down the set will continue to work over quite long periods.
Certain valve types are becoming scarce, for example the RF pentodes in the TRF receiver unit which are 5pin Marconi-Osram MSP4 pentodes.
