I've now been running Vidblaster studio the trial version. Using this you don't need to. Slide the material across to the second screen, it's just a case of clicking a few boxes and you can see your stills and videos. I've a collection od downloaded videos from YouTube and photos so have plenty of material.
The old dell is admittedly working flat out with CPU running 90 to 95% but all seems well.
So far very happy with this.
