Do you have a variac? Find a transformer and apply variable voltage 50Hz to it. Use a voltmeter and ammeter to measure the voltage and current. Plot the result. As you raise the voltage above a certain level the core will start to saturate and the current will rise alarmingly. A very practical demo of saturation.
