Mine is the same if I have Bluetooth enabled. Turn off BT and it should talk to you.
Of course that also means that you can't do handsfree phone calls, either send or receive.
You can understand it - in google maps mode, if BT was enabled and maps said "In 400 metres turn right" and the car chimes in "number not recognised..."
