Dont forget if you fiddle with a add on Sat Nav when driving you are in exactly the same issue as using a mobile phone, they are both classed as a mobile device. A standard fitting info entertainment system is not classed as a mobile device but if you are involved in an accident and its proved you were fiddling or programming a standard fitted info entertainment system you could be charged with driving without due care and attention or even dangerous driving.
I use Waze on my phone. Set it before leaving and the audio is streamed to the car stereo by Bluetooth, the phone is in a cradle well out of reach, the C3 Picasso has a deep top to the dash, if I do have to adjust something I stop in a suitable parking space, remove the ignition key and then do whatever is required, which is the correct procedure with a Tom Tom etc.
