Hi Peter thanks for reply went to do some voltage checks the valves & found the fault ( Me to blame when i changed C65 1n 2013 ) found that  one of the wires from the ferrite aerial had come off the tag strip on the chassis solder the wire back on the tag strip and it is playing on all bands learned something new that it is easy for cables to become loose when working  on old sets going to listen to the England match on it tonight kind regards Bob
