I note the referred URLs are now 'not available'. I have attached a comparison image set to this post. From this, it appears the image photographed in New York must indeed have been a mirror image. Maybe the lid of the mirror-lid receiver was swung back and the camera mounted face-down above the screen?
I haven't yet checked whether the cartoon off-screens were also mirror images... from Peter's earlier post (oddly) it would appear not.
