The early limits on television picture quality

There were so many limiting factors in pre-war TV. From the insensitve Emitron to the high percentage bandwidth at 45MHz which was awkward for all sorts of things including transmitting antenna design. The choice of 405 gave headroom for improved technology to give better pictures.

I've seen some pretty good off-screen photos from pre-war TV but can't immediately find the references.
