I have had a better look at your photo. The thermally conductive bit is visible and will have the end of the primary connected to it in the same way as mine is.
The slug hooks onto the bit that is sticking out of the winding and if that gets hot it melts the solder holding the slug into the U shape so that the leaf spring pulls the power off. Mains is connected to the leaf spring.
