Nearest to you is at Royal Wootton Bassett. Twice yearly, busy, successful. BVWS members only.
There just isn't a big enough demand to make it worthwhile to have more local events. For example Golborne is the only event north of Birrminghan. Successful but not big. Various attempts have been made at northern meetings over the years. Golborne is the only one that's survived.
Harpenden, the main national BVWS meeting, has been in long term decline and is only just viable. Even the great NVCF, though still busy and happy, is down a bit on both stalls and visitors. There are plans afoot for a revamp - we want the venue packed solid.
We've had informal meetings at people's houses over the years. Mike (Crackle) in Basildon is definitely a great host, with 2(?) per year. We've had others in the southeast on an occasional basis though none for a while. The late (and much missed) Brian Cuff was one of the prime movers here. Jeremy (Pamphonica) and I have also hosted.
